Hi
I guess everone makes mistakes in the rabbitry but this was the worse one I have made. I seen a doe with hay in her mouth. I think did i breed her and I didn't remember breeding her so I looked in my book .I have always remembered to write them in. No i didn't have her as bred so I take her to the buck . she jumps on him like she wanted to breed. So after a while he bred her . Well the first thing I saw this morning was dead babies on the wire . one blue and one broken like the one I have been showing. Same mom and dad. I have beat my self up all day over this one. I have her last litter but I am looking for another like the one i have. Outside that all the rest are doing good. All six of the broken I had a few days ago are still doing good. I have a tort, rews ,chestnuts, oranges, blue otter, black otter.blacks, and brokens babies so I will have all cages full before long.I have a siamese sable doe bred. She is a good size doe but the last time, which was her first time she had a rew.It is such a small thing. I have waited and waited and it is going to take a while longer to see how she is going to turn out. Isn't that the way when you waiting on one it takes forever. It seems like I am doing a lot of work and getting little showing done. My cages are filling up fast and with all of them full I have about 68 cages. That's not going to happen. Some will be for sale.I have one line that i am tring to get through the ugly stage. I have two broken bucks that are coming in pretty good. I have a couple of does that are off of their weight. I am feeding the oatmeal on top of their feed and good hay.I have been watching the water. I have a water system but I cut it off during the winter but I get afraid they want go to the
needle so I put in bowl, water bottles or cups whatever it takes to make sure they get water.
I have also hung the fly strips. take care Tresia
